Advanced Open Water Diver Course

The next certification after Open Water Diver. It extends your depth limit and builds experience across a range of dive types through five guided dives.

3 days
Full scuba gear provided

The Open Water Diver course is the qualification most people mean when they talk about "learning to dive". Unlike a taster or a supervised certification, it makes you a certified diver in your own right — able to plan and carry out dives with a buddy, rent equipment, and join dive trips anywhere.

The course runs over three days and has three parts: knowledge development, where you learn the theory behind pressure, buoyancy, and dive planning; confined water training, where you practise the core skills somewhere calm and shallow; and open water dives, where you apply everything across four dives in real conditions. All equipment is provided for the duration.

You'll need to be at least 10 years old, in good general health, and able to swim 200 metres. The swim isn't timed and there's no particular technique required — it's there to confirm you're comfortable enough in water to focus on learning rather than staying afloat.
