Description:

Rescue Diver is the point where the focus of your training changes. Earlier courses are about you: your skills, your buoyancy, your air. This one asks you to watch other people, anticipate the problems that lead to accidents, and know what to do when something does go wrong.

Over three days you'll cover self-rescue, recognising and responding to diver stress, managing a panicked or unresponsive diver at the surface and underwater, and the basics of search patterns and emergency planning. It's physically demanding and the scenarios can be tiring, but most divers describe it as the course that made them genuinely confident in the water. Equipment is provided throughout.

To enrol you need a PADI Advanced Open Water certification, an Emergency First Response certification earned within the previous 24 months, and to be at least 12 years old. The EFR requirement is the one people most often overlook, so it's worth confirming your dates before booking.
