ReActivate Scuba Refresher Program

ReActivate Scuba Refresher Program

Duration

PADI eLearning: 6-8 hours Entire course: 2-3 days

Requirements:

  • Open Water Diver/Junior Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification)

Description:

ReActivate is designed for divers who already hold a certification but haven't dived recently. PADI recommends a refresher after six months out of the water. Many divers leave it longer. The programme is structured so you can move quickly through topics you remember well and spend more time on the ones that have faded. The online module adapts to your answers, so the path through it is shorter for divers who score consistently and longer for divers who don't.

The in-water part is non-negotiable for the ReActivated card. You schedule a session with a dive professional at a dive shop or resort. The instructor or divemaster watches you assemble a scuba unit, runs you through basic skills (mask clearing, regulator recovery, buoyancy checks, controlled ascent), and reviews how to handle the common problems that come up underwater. The point isn't to certify you again. You're already certified. The point is to confirm you're current.

The programme is open to anyone with an Open Water Diver certification or qualifying equivalent, aged 12 and up. Junior certifications are covered the same way. Good general health is expected, and a medical sign-off may be needed if your circumstances have changed since you last dived. Once you finish both parts, the ReActivated card replaces your old plastic certification card. Same rating. Refreshed date.
